From social media we desire increase,
That thereby our friendships might never die,
But as we friend our time decease,
And real friendships become a memory:
Thou contracted a friending disease,
Feed’st, fueled it with a substantial flame,
Making a famine where abundance lies,
And making our fake friendships much more lame.
Without thou I now shall start anew,
And herald in a gaudy spring,
I hope you won’t mind if I unfollow you,
And hope that you do the same thing:
Pity the world, for friendship gluttony,
I shall eat the world’s due, but without thee.
